Thematic Areas

Our work is focused on key areas that drive sustainable and transformative change.

Our Areas of Operation

Environment & Climate Action

We are committed to promoting environmental stewardship and building community resilience against disasters.

ADS–Central Rift (ADS-CR) is committed to promoting environmental stewardship and building community resilience against disasters. Through our Disaster Risk Reduction and Environmental Management programs, we have empowered communities to prepare for and mitigate the effects of drought, floods, and other climate-related shocks.

Under this thematic area, ADS-CR implements various initiatives including:

  • Environmental Conservation: ADS-CR carries out tree planting drives across the region in partnership with institutions such as Equity Bank, Green Anglican Movement, World Renew, Transform Aid International, among many partners and local communities. These initiatives aim to restore degraded ecosystems and promote climate resilience.
  • Climate Change Adaptation: We have trained farmers on climate-smart agriculture, soil and water conservation, and sustainable land management practices to enhance food security and reduce environmental degradation.
  • Disaster Response and Relief: ADS-CR provides timely humanitarian support, including food, water, and non-food items to households affected by drought, floods, and other emergencies.

These interventions are grounded in our faith-based values of stewardship, compassion, and care for creation.

Peace and Reconciliation Initiatives

We recognize peace and justice as key pillars of sustainable development and Christian ministry.

Guided by biblical principles of reconciliation and harmony, we have actively promoted peacebuilding and advocacy across our target counties.

Our peace and advocacy work includes:

  • Peacebuilding Initiatives: We have facilitated peace dialogues and community forums in Samburu, Baringo, and Laikipia Counties, regions that have historically faced inter-community conflicts and resource-based clashes.
  • Conflict Sensitization: Through partnerships with faith leaders, youth groups, and local peace committees, ADS-CR has conducted peace education and conflict transformation sessions, helping communities embrace dialogue and coexistence.
  • Advocacy for Justice and Good Governance: We have engaged county governments and community structures to advocate for equitable resource sharing, transparency, and accountability in local development.

Our goal is to build cohesive, just, and peaceful communities where every individual can thrive in dignity.
